Advanced Robotics is for students competing as part of Mustang High School's FIRST robotics teams, and for students interested in learning advanced computer programming skills.
All students in Advanced Robotics participate on at least one of four FIRST robotics teams at the high school. We have 3 FIRST Tech Challenge teams and 1 FIRST Robotics Contest team. FIRST is a STEM sport for the mind. More info can be found by following the links below. However, students in this class will also be required to learn some programming in Java or in SNAP. Students can choose from a course of study that is heavily focused on programming or one that is more focused on the engineering competition of FIRST. In fact, the entire curricula for AP Computer Programming and AP Computer Science Principles are available to the students through Code Sooner. Students completing either AP program will be prepared to take the corresponding AP exam in early May.
