Acklin to compete at FCCLA conference in Nashville |
Alyson Acklin was an FCCLA state contest winner recently with a speech and slide presentation titled: “The Effects of Pornography on Children.” Alyson competed in Stillwater March 27, and will be traveling to Nashville with FCCLA Sponsor Jennifer Mangus in July for competition at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference. Donations to help fund her trip can be sent to MHS FCCLA at Mustang High School.
FCCLA, or Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, is a nonprofit organization for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education through grade 12. The mission of FCCLA is to promote personal growth and leadership through education, focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader. Members of FCCLA develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and career preparation. |
